Thank you for this wonderful excursion into Etruscan history. When my husband and I lived in Rome we visited as many Etruscan sites as possible. I thought many of their tombs were beautiful. And I always urge every visitor to Rome to go to the Etruscan Museum at Villa Julia (assume it's still there) to see the magnificent sarcophagi -- which to me represent equality of the genders more than any ancient artwork.
