I think you have to acknowledge that it will be both extremely gratifying, and also disappointing. My adoptive daughter looked for her bio family. Or rather, I searched for her. Once she found them, not Mom, because mom was dead, but an older half-sister. She really bonded immediately, and it was very satisfying experience for her. This is all written in the past tense because the experience turned out very poorly for my daughter. And she didn’t survive. Not just because of the bio family but for many reasons. Yet I will never regret that she had that experience. Never.
