I remember when my mother said something very similar to “Think of what I could have done if I didn’t have kids.” There's always ambivalence whether you have children or don't. No, that's not true. Some people are clear in their choice with no questions either way.. Having children often means having much greater heartbreak. Yet if we're here on this planet to stretch our hearts then, despite the pain, having children is one sure way. And frankly, despite the mental and emotional costs, I have no regrets in choosing to have kids. Plus, I have the joy of one grandchild!
